Mike Paletta and ReefMind.ai are comparing coral photos, ICP chemistry, PAR, coral identity, and tank context across successful home reefs to find repeatable patterns associated with exceptional coral color and health. Participants help build better evidence and can see project findings as they become available; the project does not promise individual analysis.

When an integration exposes a dosing pump, ReefMind maps it to the right tank and keeps a history of what it delivered. Where write support exists, you can keep separate schedules for each pump head with multiple times and amounts in the same day. Read-only integrations stay read-only.

Early warning checks

Spot trouble while you still have time

A lot of reef problems start as small changes that are easy to miss. ReefMind checks for known warning patterns and tells you what it found. It cannot catch every problem, but it can give you a reason to look sooner.

Ca > 480 with pH rising suggests precipitation risk. Alk dropping out of step with Ca? Worth a look, not normal growth.

Problems that start quietly

Small changes can become expensive problems.

These are common reef failures that often start with a small drift. ReefMind can point out the pattern, but it cannot promise to catch every problem.

A dosing container runs dry overnight

If two-part stops at 2 AM, the alkalinity trend may start moving before the damage is obvious. ReefMind calls out the drop and shows the dosing history beside it.

A heater starts running too long

When temperature keeps climbing outside the normal daily curve, ReefMind marks the unusual rise so you can check the heater.

Silicate rises after a water change

If an ICP result shows elevated silicate after a water change, ReefMind puts those events together and notes the possible diatom risk.

The average looks fine, but the swing does not

A daily average can hide a nearly 2 dKH swing. ReefMind shows the range so you can judge whether it lines up with SPS stress.

How is ReefMind different from other reefing apps?

Most controller apps focus on their own charts. ReefMind combines supported controller data with dosing, tests, photos, equipment, and history, then shows the readings behind each explanation.

What can ReefMind see on my sump camera?

Point a supported camera at the sump and ReefMind can estimate cup fullness, describe visible skimmate, and note the ATO and sump levels. Set a threshold if you want a warning. These checks show visible change; they are not a diagnosis.

How does ReefMind connect to my controller?

Connections start read-only and use the safest supported method for that controller. ReefMind keeps controller data separated by tank, and any supported control must be deliberately enabled.

Does this work without a ReefMind Collector?

Yes. You can connect a controller without buying hardware. The optional Collector adds 30-second local monitoring and can buffer readings during an internet outage.

What controllers does ReefMind support?
