Red Sea ReefControl
ReefMind reads your Red Sea ReefControl through the ReefBeat cloud. Your ReefSense probes show up as sensor cards on the dashboard, and your ReefControl Power outlets show their names and on/off states. ReefMind only reads. It never switches an outlet, changes the ATO, or changes leak settings.
What you need
- A ReefControl Pro or ReefControl Lite set up in the Red Sea ReefBeat app.
- Your ReefBeat email and password. If you already connected ReefBeat in ReefMind for a ReefDose, you can reuse that login. You do not need to sign in again.
- No ReefMind Collector is needed. The readings come from the ReefBeat cloud.
Connect it
- In ReefMind, open Settings, choose Add, then Red Sea ReefControl.
- Choose the tank this ReefControl is for, or choose to create a new tank. Choosing an existing tank does not change its name, volume, or targets.
- Enter your ReefBeat login, or pick the one saved for ReefDose, and choose Find my ReefControl.
- If your ReefBeat account has more than one ReefControl, pick the one for this tank. Its paired Power center comes with it.
- Choose Connect ReefControl. ReefMind reads your probes straight away and then about once an hour. Sync now reads them again on demand.
What ReefMind shows
- Temperature from a temperature probe, or from the "Level & Temp" ATO probe when there is no separate temperature probe.
- pH and ORP (mV).
- Salinity. If ReefBeat is set to specific gravity, ReefMind converts it to ppt and keeps the specific gravity value with the reading. Raw conductivity is shown but does not trigger alerts.
- Outlets and ATO: Power outlet names with On, Off, or Unknown, the ATO pump and water level, and the leak detection mode. These are states only. They never trigger alerts.
Only temperature, pH, ORP and salinity are used for alerts and by Captain Chris.
Red Sea ReefMat
A ReefMat 250, 500 or 1200 on the same ReefBeat account connects the same way: pick it in the device list. Each ReefMat is its own device, so a tank can have more than one.
- Fleece left in percent and metres, days left on the roll, fleece used today and the daily average, each with a history graph.
- The mode (auto, manual, maintenance), roll size, fleece used on this roll, faults such as a jam or high water, a dirty sensor, and the firmware.
- Captain Chris sees fleece use as a hint about feeding and waste. It cannot advance or change the mat.
Alerts are on by default: fleece low (10% or 7 days left), roll empty, unusually high use against the last 7 days, no advance for longer than expected, faults (jam, motor, sensor, high water), a dirty sensor, and offline for more than 6 hours. You get one alert when it starts and one when it clears, and fitting a new roll resets the countdown. Change the thresholds or turn alert types off under ReefMat alerts on the dashboard. Your account alert settings (push on/off, critical only) apply.
If something looks wrong
- "Offline in ReefBeat": the ReefBeat app also shows the ReefControl offline. ReefMind keeps checking and starts reading again when it reconnects.
- Wrong email or password: ReefBeat rejected the login. Check it in the ReefBeat app, then connect again.
- A probe is missing: an unplugged probe is skipped. Plug it in and check it shows a value in the ReefBeat app.
To stop, open the ReefControl row in Settings and choose Remove this controller. Your past readings stay in history.
