Reflash a Collector SD card
Use these steps when ReefMind support asks you to reinstall the Collector software. You write a fresh copy of the Collector image to its microSD card, then set it up on your Wi-Fi again. You need a computer and an SD card reader.
1. Download the Collector image
- Download the Collector image: reefmind-v5.0.6-golden-shrunk-firstboot-fix.img.zip.
- Unzip it. You will use the unzipped
.imgfile in step 3.
2. Install Raspberry Pi Imager
Download and install Raspberry Pi Imager from raspberrypi.com/software.
3. Write the image to the Collector's SD card
Writing the image erases everything on the card you select. Pick the Collector's SD card, not another drive.
- Unplug the Collector, remove its microSD card, and insert it into your computer with an SD card reader.
- Open Raspberry Pi Imager and select Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W as the device.
- In the operating system selection, scroll to Use Custom and select the unzipped image file.
- Select the Collector's SD card as storage.
- If Imager asks whether to apply OS customisation settings, choose No.
- Click Write, and let writing and verification finish.
- Safely eject the card, put it back in the Collector, and reconnect power.
- Wait about 5 minutes. On its first power-on the Collector sets up the new card and restarts once by itself.
- Connect to the ReefMind-Setup Wi-Fi network and follow Collector setup to reconnect it to your home Wi-Fi. If the network has not appeared after 10 minutes, unplug the Collector for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 5 more minutes.
